Consistent quality food pre pandemic, during pandemic, post pandemic. I go there to eat some on cold day or after watching Netflix Kdrama.

Authentic Korean food with great quick service, which is not easy to find. Met a friend here & she suggested this Korean restaurant. I wanted Korean food where I didn't have to cook it myself. We came on a Thursday for lunch & the place was packed which is always a good sign. The hostess acknowledged me & I raised my fingers for 2 & she pointed to a table and I was able to sit right away despite my friend not being there yet. We tried the Korean beef & short ribs which came on a sizzling plate with onions. The smell permeated perfectly and the sound of the sizzling of the meat is so deliciously inviting. They bought out all the authentic Korean sides like kimchi, spicy zucchini, bean sprouts and some type of greens. It came with broth & purple authentic Korean rice in a hot pot. Delicious...I want to come back already and bring our family. I can still smell the sizzling onions & beef. Yum

4 solid stars solely based on the food!
Young Dong is completely lacking in ambiance, but makes up for it in portion size and solid Korean dishes!

Located in an Albertson's shopping center in Chino Hills, this Tofu (Soondubu) restaurant is literally nothing to look at. When you walk in, you'll notice the bare grey walls that make me feel like I'm in a prison cell. They have packed as many tables as they can humanly fit into one big room, and no matter what table you're at, you WILL be seated way too close to the person next to you. It's always loud and crowded. It's not a place where you go to have a nice, relaxing meal.

However, service is super fast. Again, you get that vibe that they want you to eat and leave because there's always people waiting for a table. The banchan (kimchi) is hit or miss- which is actually pretty typical at any Korean restaurant.

But they have a ton of tofu soup options. You can order them by itself or as a combo. There's dolsot (hot stone) bibimbap, bulgogi- tons of options. But I come here strictly for the donkasu! Not only is the portion HUGE (you can easily share one order with 2 people), but the breading is what I love. They use bigger bits of bread to make the crumbs, and it's always perfectly fried. The dish comes with salad and rice- it's always cooked perfectly! It's a very hearty, yummy meal for $20 that never disappoints.

If you're in the mood for Korean food and don't care about the interior, Yong Dong is it!

Still my favorite local sundobu (tofu soup) and banchan (side dishes)! Waited 45 min today to seat two people, but hey it's Saturday and nobody wants to cook at home in 95 degree weather.  Plus the food here is SO DELI IOUS!  Come try it out. Once you're seated (no reservations, first come first served), the service is pretty fast.

Always a Korean soft tofu place you can rely on. Soul food right here. It is no wonder this place is always busy. All the tofu soups are solid but the YukGaeJang here really is the best in chino hills area. Tried the other new places but I always end up craving the YukGaeJang from this Chino Hills location. (Diamond Bar location seems to taste different. Don't know why). YukGaeJang with Galbi always a great great pair. Kimchi tofu soup (lvl spicy) is also my goto food here.

If you need some soul food, Young Dong is the place.

I've eaten here several times and have loved it each time! Actually, I'm on a mission to try out everything on their menu, becuse I know I won't be disappointed. They specialize in tofu stews and a few other dishes such as beef short rib soup ( another must try) and japchae. We always get the seafood pancake- it's not written on their print menu, but they have it written on a piece of paper on the wall one of the things to love about Young Dong are the portion sizes. The soups are a single portion, but everything else is great for sharing!

But, this place gets really busy on the weekends, so if you're going with a big party, just expect a bit of a wait.

If you've never been here, I promise you'll be back for more!

Love the soondubu and donkatsu. It's usually busy here so you want to plan ahead if you want to eat there. We usually to go our food and it's still good when we eat it at home. All the servers have been working here a while so they run the place really efficiently.

You would think some of the best Korean restaurants are in the heart of Koreatown, right? You thought wrong - Young Dong Tofu located in Chino Hills (approximately 45 minutes east of LA) has some of the best tofu soup in LA and not only that, I think they have one of the best donkatsus in not only LA but all of America.

Someone told me that I live near this place and I should check this place out so I was able to go to this place not once, or twice but THREE times when I was visiting. The first time was a to-go order, and I ordered the donkatsu.

The donkatsu meat is super thick but what's really fascinating is the super crunchy/crispy breading on this -- it was a breading that I've never tasted in America; it was sooo good. The donkatsu is HUGE and it's well worth the $22 price point -- I know tofu soup is their specialty but please do not sleep on this donkatsu. YOU WILL NOT REGRET.

After ordering take-out, I knew I had to try this place out when the food comes out HOT, so I decided to dine in the second time around. I ordered the gopchang tofu soup, bulgogi and donkatsu for my friend. We came on a Sunday lunch and this place was PACKED. We had to wait nearly 40 minutes to be seated and it was around 2PM so you already know how popular this place is. The servers were very nice and they seemed busy, but they did a really good job at taking care of their tables.

The donkatsu the second time around was even better. Since it came out hot and crispy, dipping it in the donkatsu sauce was an amazing food item and it affirmed me once again that this place HAS THE BEST DONKATSU IN AMERICA.

The soontofu soup was also really good -- super rich in flavor and they had so many pieces of gopchang in the soup; portions that I've never seen in ATL. The bulgogi was pretty solid too; I usually never order bulgogi but I thought I'd give tribute to the OG KBBQ.

The third time around -- we ordered the same things. The gopchang tofu and the donkatsu and every time I came -- I came with different people and everyone was pleased with everything they ate. The donkatsu is a must-try. It feels like your typical Korean traditional restaurant. There's nothing super fancy and it's not in K-town either, but you'll have a great meal here so if you're in the Chino Hills area, make sure to check this place out!
